Cinco De Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is a holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army’s May 5, 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. It is not Mexico’s Independence Day, a common misconception, and in Mexico, it is a fairly low-key holiday. In America, we celebrate with simple margarita recipes and Mexican-inspired dishes such as, skillet-grilled fish tacos and huevos rancheros and enchilada casseroles.
