Friends, I’ve been making some sort of variation of this bread for about a year now. I’ve used olive oil in place of butter, all water, all milk, a little honey, a little sugar, and my family’s favorite version for sandwiches is this one, which calls for equal parts by weight milk and water, no sweetener, and melted butter 👍👍

It’s soft and sturdy, nicely sweetened but not sweet at all 🍞🍞
⁣
It takes no time to stir together and you can use more or less yeast depending on your time constraints. Find notes in the recipe on how to do so 🤗

For best results, use a scale to measure! 🙏🙏 Volume measures simply are not accurate. ⁣

I have been making these overnight chia oats (adapted from my friend @serenagwolf ‘s recipe) for a couple of years now but only recently have I started making them in individual portions and it’s been kind of game changing — my kids love them, I love them, and it is so nice having a stash on hand ready to grab and go 🤗

True story: over winter break, my 9-yr old asked if she could make a grilled cheese, and I said yes. I was doing laundry in the basement, and when she was done, she came down to show me her creation, which truly looked as though it had been thrown in a campfire 🔥 ⁣

It was time for a little lesson 🥪🥪⁣

3 Grilled Cheese Tips:⁣
⁣
1. Use some mayonnaise on the bread. You can actually use all mayonnaise as opposed to butter but I like the flavor of using a mix — mayo won’t burn the way butter will, so it’s more forgiving. ⁣
⁣
2. Use low heat and be patient. It may take more than 5 minutes a side. ⁣
⁣
3. Cover it initially; then uncover for the second side. ⁣
⁣
