The Best Granola

But before I leave you, I just thought I’d remind you all about one of my all-time favorite recipes. It has been over a year since I made this granola and it is just as delectable as I remember. The base recipe has been adapted from the Barefoot Contessa and the candied nut recipe comes from one of the Moosewood cookbooks. With the addition of dried cranberries and blueberries, this granola makes the best breakfast/snack/lunch/dinner ever.

I’m one of those people who have that trouble with your blog. I always figured it was my bad internet connection, so it’s kind of comforting to know I’m not the only one. Good luck untangling the kinks!

Me, too. It usually takes a while to load but I guessed that it is because of all the photos, which are worth the wait! I’ll be here when you figure it all out 🙂
Fabulous granola!!
Sometimes the reason some people have trouble with our blogs is because of some of the links we have on our side bar. I had Link Within on my blog and couldn’t even get on my own blog…removed and problem solved. By the way I love granola!!
Your granola looks great! I don’t have any trouble with the load time on your page, but I’ve heard that it can be an issue with graphics, or the number of posts per page.
The granola looks fantastic!! Homemade is the best! Good luck, I hope you get everything figured out soon!! I will keep coming back no matter what:)
That granola looks so tasty…except for the cashews. I once put cashews in my granola and had to gag down the whole 4 quarts of it…couldn’t throw it out cuz that stuff’s expensive! And I normally love cashews…I think I just didn’t like the roasted ones.
Yes, I have trouble with loading your blog but I love it anyway 🙂

Ah, this reminds me so much of my short time in Europe, when I first had my taste of granola plus yogurt! Looove 🙂 (the menu looks scrumptious! I won’t be in the area but then again I don’t have a valentine either! Ha ha.)
The granola looks beautiful, especially the nuts!
Alas, I will admit to having trouble loading your front page as well. It didn’t bother me though because I could access it just fine from my work computer. If not I would have surely emailed you because your blog is one of my favorites!
Nice job on the granola. I have to laugh – one person gags on the nuts, the other person says thank goodness for the nuts – isn’t it so wonderful that we’re all so different.
Your blog loads fine for me – but you really don’t blog enough! I am always so excited when I see you have something new and delicious for me to drool over. I haven’t yet recovered from the fried cheese sandwich.
MMmm, delicious!! i have been meaning to make some forever. i should really work on that 🙂
I am charmed with your blog. You have marvellous recipes and precious(beautiful) photos. See you from Spain!!!
well i’ll be. who would have thought to roast and candy the nuts FIRST before adding it to the granola. genius!
good luck with the site. enjoy the granola in the meantime!
cheers
The dried cranberries and blueberries look fabulous! I seriously want to try this out!
A healthy and delicious looking granola! Really fantastic!
Cheers,
Rosa
Everything looks amazing! Since a lot of food blogs tend to have many photos, I think those with slower connections have a hard time loading the sites. i’ve always been ok with your site, but I have heard the same about mine.
your granola looks great!!! 🙂
Wonderful looking granola. The photos are a bit slow to load, good luck with it.
I hope you come back soon! We miss you!
I don’t have a problem or have to wait at all. Sorry some people are having this problem though. The granola looks wonderful!
Strange how loading time should be so different from blog to blog. Your pictures are slow to load. Do you use a special program to prepare your posts?
Interesting that it could be due to a widget.
I’m in a granola phase right now and drooling over this! I’ve never tried making my own but I think I will bc I can’t find a store-bought ones with enough almonds and dried fruit. Yummmers.
That does look like the best granola! I defenetly have to try homemadre granola soon! Good luck figuring what’s up with your blog.
First off, your fabulous photos are making me crave granola for the first time ever. Very nice job!
Second, I wonder if you just reduced your picture file size if that would help. I looked at the properties of your first three pictures and your file sizes were in the 600 to 900 kilobytes in size. By comparison, I looked at mine and they’re like 70 or 80 kilobytes. Do you use any program to edit your photos? Just for the heck of it, I saved one of your photos and was able to reduce the file size by 10 times by just saving it as a .jpg file rather than a .png, which is what it is. I use a program called Irfanview, which you can download at http://www.irfanview.com for free to do most of my photo editing. It’s relatively simple.
I don’t know… just throwing out some ideas for you to chew on 🙂
I’m not having any trouble with your blog. The granola looks great. BTW, I’ve passed on 2 blog awards to you. Go to my site for info, judyskitchen.blogspot.com.
That granola looks devine. The candied nuts must really bump it up a notch!
Awe thanks for working on the problem. Just so you know, your blog is definitely worth waiting for.
PS the granola sounds fab!
